Rajasthan Governor Declines Honour Murder Costs
Jaipur: Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade has returned “The Rajasthan Prohibition of Disturbance with the Liberty of Matrimonial Alliances for Honour and Tradition Costs, 2019,” at first gone by the previous government. The announcement was made during the spending plan session.
- Grounds for Return: The Expense recommendations areas of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Code of Criminal Treatment (CrPC), now repealed.
- Alternative Regulations: The federal government believes Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, adequately addresses honour killings, prescribing stringent penalties, including death.
- Original Intent: The Expense intended to safeguard inter-caste and inter-religious marital relationships from scare tactics and punish associated offenses.
