Telangana IPS Officer Instrumental in Maoist Surrender
Hyderabad– IPS officer B. Sumathi, heading the Telangana Cops Special Knowledge Branch (SIB), played a critical role in the recent abandonment of top Maoist leaders, including leader Thippiri Tirupati alias Devuji.
Key Facts:
- Devuji, a Central Board participant, gave up with other senior staffs.
- DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy lauded Sumathi and the SIB group’s initiatives in convincing the ultras to rejoin conventional society.
- Sumathi has managed the abandonment of 591 Maoist leaders in the past two years.
- The SIB team persuaded the ultras that give up would make them “nos”.
