Manipur Authorities Evacuate Kuki Students Amidst Increasing Tensions
Imphal– Authorities in Manipur have evacuated 51 Kuki students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Ramva School in Ukhrul area due to intensifying tensions in between the Kuki and Naga neighborhoods.
- Evacuation: 31 man and 20 women trainees were safely transferred to Kangpokpi district.
- Reason: Precautionary action following clashes and arson in the Litan Sareikhong location, where about 30 houses were burned.
- Area Support: Local civil society organizations aided in de-escalating tension and ensuring the pupils’ safe flow.
