New Delhi– Government Alerts Central Armed Cops Forces Act, 2026
The Indian government has formally enacted the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Act, 2026, complying with governmental approval. This “umbrella regulation” intends to simplify guidelines for the CAPF.
- Purpose: To control employment, deputation, promo, and service problems for CAPF officers.
- Deputation: Mandates filling up 50 % of Inspector General messages and 67 % of Additional Director General articles using Indian Police Solution (IPS) deputation. Supervisor General and Unique Supervisor General functions will be filled only through deputation.
- History: This regulation follows a High court directive to lower IPS officer deputation within the CAPF.
