DU Pupils Objection UGC Equity Laws, Endanger Strike
Delhi College student rallied near the Arts Professors Wednesday, demanding a complete rollback of the UGC (Promotion of Equity in College Institutions) Laws, 2026 This follows a similar objection at the UGC head office.
- Trainees submitted a memorandum to the DU Proctor’s office, slamming the guidelines as “prejudiced and dissentious.”
- Militants say the laws will certainly worsen existing differences as opposed to advertising sensitization.

- DU Proctor acknowledged invoice of the memorandum and guaranteed conversation with the UGC.
- The UGC policies, notified January 13, 2026, mandate Equal Opportunity Centers to resolve discrimination based on faith, race, caste, gender, place of birth, and impairment.
