Maharashtra’s Electoral Mapping Reveals Urban-Rural Divide
Maharashtra’s pre-Special Extensive Modification (SIR) electoral mapping exercise has subjected a plain comparison in participation between urban and backwoods. Data from the Maharashtra State Election Payment (SEC) suggests significantly lower interaction in cities like Mumbai, Thane, and Pune compared to rural areas.
- Mumbai Suburban district tape-recorded a simple 36 31 % mapping.
- Gadchiroli, a tribal area, leads with 90 2 % mapping.
- State typical stands at 64 77 %.
The SEC intends to improve voter verification by linking present data with 2002 selecting rolls, reducing the requirement for extensive physical verification. Reduced city mapping rates are attributed to migration and BLO shortages.
